Creator relationships and signals

Distinguish Organic/earned, Seeded (free product, no obligation), Gifted for post, Paid partnership, Affiliate, Ambassador, UGC-for-brand, Clip and Unknown.

Steps

  1. Open Intelligence → Creators for the relationship split and creator records.
  2. Open attribution review for post-level relationship decisions; select one or up to 100 rows, choose the relationship and save an evidence-based reason.
  3. Platform disclosures and local-language hashtags provide signals. Gifts, shop tags, codes and repeated cadence are not proof of an agreement; low-confidence signals await review.
  4. Use Seed · spot · scale to record no-obligation seeding, see captured posting rate and consider paid tests when confirmed seeded posts beat same-creator, same-relationship usual.

What good looks like

The relationship and signal are visible in the Why drawer; creator counts show separate relationship types.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming no disclosure means Organic/earned.
  • Treating TikTok Shop tags or repeat posts as proof of affiliate or ambassador contracts.
  • Mixing paid partnerships or affiliates with organic typical.
